Vinh M. Tran is a first-generation immigrant who fled South Vietnam in 1975 as a refugee, later earning a finance degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in 1990 as the first in his family to graduate college, and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1994. He clerked in the Tax Division of the Texas Office of the Attorney General during law school before opening his own law office in North Austin. He is bilingual in English and Vietnamese and has practiced family law, including divorce and child custody matters, for over 25 years.
