He holds a B.A. from St. Mary's University (1995) and a J.D. from Baylor University School of Law (1998), and has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1998. He has represented clients before the Texas 13th Court of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is the grandson of Judge Reynaldo G. Garza, the first Mexican-American federal judge in U.S. history, and the son of attorney and mediator Reynaldo G. Garza, Jr.
