Lori Buiteweg began her legal career in 1990, spending about ten years in district and circuit court litigation before joining Nichols Sacks Slank Sendelbach Buiteweg & Solomon in 2001 to focus on family law. She served as the 81st President of the State Bar of Michigan, the sixth woman to hold the position, and has also led the Washtenaw County Bar Association and the Michigan chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Her practice has shifted toward mediation and collaborative law, aiming to help clients reach amicable resolutions.
