She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law in 1989 after a B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University, and has practiced family law for over 37 years. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (Georgia Chapter, one of 30 fellows) and has been named to the Super Lawyers Top 50 Women in Georgia annually since 2018.
